This newsletter is to let you in on all the amazing events that Out West is hosting to close out the month of April! With upcoming author events, writing classes, book launches, and the 10th annual Independent Bookstore Day, you’ll want to come check out all that’s in store.

This April, Out West Books is continuing on with countless exciting events! To begin, Mary Beth, a behavioral health clinician, is visiting to teach journaling skills. At 6:30 pm on April 19th, join us to learn about the transformative powers of journaling. Whether you’re looking for a tool to build clarity and a sense of direction, or want to pick up journaling to “uncover the issues standing between you and the life you truly want,” this class will help you get there!

Following this amazing journaling class, Out West will be hosting Dave Showalter for the debut of his newest book: Living River: The Promise of the Mighty Colorado. The book illustrates how we can create a resilient watershed if we change our relationship with the waters of the Colorado River. Come visit with the author and get a copy of this book on April 24th at 6:30!

Finishing out our April events, Out West is gearing up for biggest event of the year. Celebrating the tenth anniversary, Independent Bookstore Day falls on April 29th. With exclusive book totes, bookplates signed by Amanda Gorman, Indie Bookstore Blackwing pencils, and so many other exciting exclusives, get ready for an awesome day at the bookstore! On top of all the merch, Out West will be hosting a series of giveaways, a raffle, and other fun activities to celebrate. It will be an Independent Bookstore Day to remember, so make sure you pop in and say hello!

Finally, to round out our author events, Out West is collaborating with Mesa County Libraries and Kensington Books to host New York Times bestselling author, Marc Cameron. Join us on May 9th at the library’s Central Branch for a reading and book signing of his most recent book. More details can be found on our events page!
